Michael Phaneuf, a former ice dance competitor and Eastern Sectional Championship medalist in his youth, has charted a remarkable journey of passion, education, and community leadership.
After earning his bachelor's degree from Babson College, Michael ventured into the corporate world, gaining valuable experience across various corporate settings. However, his unwavering commitment to making a meaningful impact in the lives of young learners led him on a transformative career path.
Michael pursued his Masters in Education from the University of Massachusetts - Boston through the Boston Teacher Residency Program, setting the stage for an extraordinary career in education.
For the past 14 years, Michael has dedicated his talents to Boston Public Schools, making a profound difference in the fields of special education and English language learning. His passion for education extends beyond the classroom, as he has actively contributed to education policy through Teach Plus on local, state, and national levels, advocating for systemic change and student success.
But Michael's journey is not confined to academia. He remains deeply connected to his roots in figure skating, tirelessly working as a coach and official. Beyond coaching, Michael has managed an adaptive skating program, a skating afterschool program for recreational skating for Boston's youth, and has been a campus manager at learn-to-skate campuses throughout the city.
His creative prowess shines as he has lent his talents to ice shows, both as a choreographer and director, leaving audiences mesmerized by the artistry and finesse he brings to the rink. Moreover, Michael's coaching acumen has led Theater On Ice teams to compete at national and international levels, a testament to his commitment to excellence.
In all of these roles, Michael Phaneuf's vision, leadership, and dedication make him the perfect choice to be the Co-Founder and President of Elevate Figure Skating Club. His journey represents a unique blend of expertise in figure skating, education, and community leadership, ensuring the club's mission to uplift and empower urban youth becomes a resounding success.
